Huntington disease (HD) is an inherited brain disorder. Each child of a parent with HD has a 50 per cent chance of inheriting the disease. HD causes cells in parts of the brain to die. As the brain cells die, a person with HD becomes less able to control movements, recall events, make decisions and control emotions. The Huntington Society of Canada (HSC) is a not-for-profit charitable organization which raises funds to deliver counselling and other support services to individuals and families living with Huntington disease (HD). HSC works with health and social services professionals to enable them to better serve people living with HD. We also fund medical research leading to treatments that will delay or stop the progression of the disease.
Ovarian Cancer Canada
Ovarian Cancer Canada
Ovarian cancer is a growth of cells that forms in the ovaries. The cells multiply quickly and can invade and destroy healthy body tissue. The female reproductive system contains two ovaries, one on each side of the uterus. The ovaries — each about the size of an almond — produce eggs (ova) as well as the hormones estrogen and progesterone. Ovarian cancer treatment usually involves surgery and chemotherapy.
Ovarian Cancer Canada and their network of researchers across Canada have built a national research engine that has led to new discoveries that help people with the disease live longer and better. But they can’t stop now. The momentum they’ve created for ovarian cancer research is unlocking new insights that have the capability to change the face of this disease.

K.I.N.D. Fund
Every day, the majority of students in Malawi struggle to learn while sitting on the ground. Join UNICEF USA and MSNBC's "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" in an ambitious campaign called K.I.N.D. (Kids in Need of Desks) to provide desks, scholarships, books and uniforms to eager, young learners. To date, the program has reached more than 1.1 million learners across the country improving their learning experience and outcomes, but in order to reach every child, we need ongoing support. A K.I.N.D. Desk empowers their educational journey and fuels their dreams for the future.
